Marsala

Pantone's color of the year is the rich, deep marsala. Though it feels like this color has been trending for the past few years under different names, such as oxblood and burgundy, that shouldn't make it any less of a color. Plus, there is a good chance you've already got it in your closet!

Personally, I don't think I have a stitch of marsala, so it was fun to look around at all the new options, and perhaps killing two birds with one stone with that bucket bag?

    Great round up! I love the color and I actually have several pieces in the hue. I'd love a pair of pumps in Marsala.

    I love how they come up with all IT colors and names. It's nice that most of us already have something in our wardrobe and this is gorgeous color for fall and winter. I think with clever styling it some pieces could work even spring and summer. That bra, nail polish and hat are my favorites.
    Stylists was predicting that this color gowns will be dominating on golden globe red carpet, but it wasn't.

    I have to admit, I was really pleasantly surprised when Pantone announced marsala as the colour of the year. I haven't liked any of their last three colours and seeing one that I might actually wear - okay, probably just in the form of lipstick or nailpolish, but still - come up was a welcome change. Marsala is such a lovely shade and so wearable. And I can't help but love the marsala-hued fedora. It reminds me of something my earliest style icon, Carmen Sandiego, would have worn!

    OK, this makes sense. I've seen two other bloggers call it more "terra cotta" and I was reading it as more of a brown-ish burgundy. That I've got plenty of.
