I suppose it is the same with all my previous hat loves - I was not always a 'hat person' - for years I insisted I simply did not look good in them, but with all new things there is an adjustment period. I was not a beanie person until I became accustom to how I looked in them, and now that I'm enjoying the coziness of a cashmere hat, it's hard to imagine not loving it.

I know exactly how you feel! I would have NEVER touched beanies in the past few years but now that winters are just soooooo cold I have to! This is example a of how to pull off the look!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about that adjustment period with items!! It's all about your perception! It looks great on you! Besides the nice thing about any hat, is they are great for bad hair days!!!! Jodie

Great casual look! Loving the mixing of prints here. I started wearing beanies in New York - only because my ears hurt from the icy cold weather. They are really a necessity, and you look great in them!

Isn't it funny how we all grew up thinking we looked terrible in hats? Looking back, I think that it must simply have been that no one wore hats in the 90s, which made us feel odd and uncomfortable when trying them. For years I was convinced that I simply didn't look good in hats. But then I found one I loved - and since then, I've loved almost all them. Although not so much fedoras. I do genuinely look a little odd in a fedora. I digress. Getting dress would be so much less fun without hats, I think, and beanies are a winter essential as far as I'm concerned, so I'm glad you've discovered how wonderful they are. The colour of this one is just perfect with your dark hair!

Love the beanie, I don't think I grew up wearing hats. I do love them now because I hate for my tiny head to be cold and there are so many cute options nowadays.
ReplyDeleteLove the booties!

As a former "punk rocker" in high school, a beanie was always part of my look, so I have always loved them. You look great in this beanie and hats in general! You seem to style them effortlessly! I love the stripes and plaid today! Great pairing!
ReplyDeleteHehe your title made me giggle. I think you can totally pull of the look of the beanie, and I love the fun print mixing you have going on as well. I don't wear a lot of hats, but when it gets cold enough I pull out the beanies as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes and plaid combination! Love it!

I get it, I am not a beanie person either. However been I have "beanie in need" to protect my hair from the cold I could have cared less.
ReplyDeleteThe hat looks so warm and cozy. I love the mix of stripes and plaid.
ReplyDeleteI need to wear more beanies! Loving your mixed prints.

I definitely have an adjustment period for pretty much everything. It takes me thinking about it and seeing a few looks with a certain trend to try it then wearing it around my house before eventually loving it! I love how you look in hats. Seeing you in all your different ones definitely made me want to experiment more with hats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great look! I love those type of hats! They relax any outfit and keep you so warm! :)

What a cute hat! It took me a while to become a beanie person, too, but it's perfect to throw on when I'm rushing out the door :)
ReplyDeleteI love knit beanies!! I don't actually own one, but I would like to. It looks adorable on you!

I feel the same way about hats. I used to only wear baseball hats and have slowly expanded my collection of different style of hats. The one that I know I do not look good is a fedora, I always feel like it looks too small for my head and it doesn't give me the sun protection I am looking for.
ReplyDeleteYou do look great in hats!

Ahh but you pull off the beanie so well! I think it's a look that should definitely stay! xx I also am (of course) a fan of your pattern clashing! You look so fabulous! xx

You do look great in a beanie! :)
ReplyDeleteI find myself liking hats a little more now too - I guess when they perform an essential function it's hard to say no to them! I remember when I went to Europe it was really cold but I refused to wear a beanie..I would have been better off just wearing it and enjoying the warmth, rather than worrying it would give me terrible hat hair, haha!
Away From The Blue
You most certainly can rock a beanie! I have been and always will be a hat person but haven't rocked a beanie myself (it's definitely great for winter and there is no winter weather there!)
