When Vaseline invited me to try out their Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion, I was anxious to see if it really could heal my poor, dry skin.
Part of keeping your skin moisturized during the winter is to remember to apply lotion before heading out into the cold, and to really put the lotion to the test, Vaseline challenged me to spend the afternoon outdoors ice skating.
The thick, fragrance free lotion contains healing micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly to deeply moisturize and heal. I could feel it working as soon as I applied it, which I made the mistake of doing before I laced up my skates.
After I eventually got suited up for skating, I headed on to the ice... and then immediately had to get off because it was time for the zamboni. After 15 minutes of literally freezing my butt off sitting on a metal bench I was ready to skate. I hadn't been skating in years and any sort of grace you might perceive in these action shots is purely coincidental.
After a few laps of clutching my sister for dear life, I eventually found my skating rhythm. My hands having been moisturized and then insulated by the mittens (with the flaps up) stayed cozy and warm, even with my arms out flailing the majority of the time. But I didn't fall even once, so I'm quite proud of myself.
I've been using the Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion every day for the past 10 days and my dry skin has healed (after five days) and my hands feel significantly more moisturized. I am filing at work without fear of paper cuts and will definitely continue to use this product. It's available at CVS for $4.99, so there is no reason your skin should suffer this winter either!

When I lived in Winnipeg, I swore by Vaseline's Intensive Care Lotion - it's the best thing for dry hands in winter. Although speaking of hands, I have to say that I think the true star of this post is your manicure. I've never seen anything like the shade of polish you're wearing and I absolutely love it. I need more nail polish like I need another hole in my head but still, I'm seriously tempted to rush out and buy one more myself :)

ReplyDeleteIt's so important to care for skin and it puts big pressure at this time of the year. Vaseline is included in my beauty routine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day you had skating. I haven't been skating for years as well. I think last time it was, oh, 10 years ago. Would love to try it again.
