The beach is a totally different place in the winter. The energy is different, it's somber, desolate. Though it's not without it's beauty, and as a bonus, I have no problem finding a parking space.
In other news, it's snowing/icing again, so I'm home from work. I suppose I should be happy for a snow day, but it would probably be in my best interest to do something more productive than camp out on the couch again...

I love a pop of gingham during any season. I especially love it during the winter when I feel like it gives us some hope of spring!
ReplyDeleteYou look super chic and so brave with no coat! I'm over the winter bring on Spring!
ReplyDeleteI'm home again today too! That's two Mondays in a row lol. I love seeing the beach in the winter, it is such a different feeling from the summer....it is so cold, but the beauty is worth it. Your layering here is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have always preferred the beach in winter to the beach in summer. I know I am virtually alone in that, but nonetheless, it's true - there's something about the cold and vast emptiness that I find very haunting and beautiful. Plus, it's always easy to find parking ;) And I think winter beach days can lead to much more creative outfits than summer ones. Throwing on a sundress is easy. Perfectly layering a sweater, blouse, jeans and boots is more challenging - although you're making it look pretty darn effortless here.

That handbag is gorgeous! It's Marsala - the color of the year right?

I live by a lake and the mood is so different in the winter but it does have it's own beauty. I definitely take lots of pictures there with warmer weather as well.

When it snows down here, it's so pointless. Especially if said snow lasts more than a day. Living on campus it's easy to get around and do art thangs, but then all the other buildings shut down so you can't even walk over to get a Starbucks break or go to the Rec. I ramble!
ReplyDeleteLove the gingham peeking out and the subtle nautical color scheme, Lydia!
Beautiful outfit, love the location of this shoot!
