However, the one lovely constant is the lengthening of the days, and last week I forced myself to 'man-up' and took photos six out of the seven days - four of those days with the tripod, four in extreme cold, one in a snowstorm.
Unfortunately the trend did not continue into the start of this week, Sunday was too frightfully cold and windy to dare venture outside. I spent my day baking cookies. On Valentine's day I had a 'date' with my Mom, I got her flowers, she got me chocolate, we went to Starbucks and then saw Fifty Shades of Grey. Not a bad way to spend the weekend.

Love the pastels and great selection of jewelry pieces. Those earrings are gorgeous. Did you like the movie? I want to go see it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty look!
ReplyDeleteYea, you were definitely brave! I've only taken 4 sets of outfit pictures since getting back from vacation 2 weeks ago, ha ha. Doing another one today and HOPEFULLY one in NYC tomorrow, haha. Unless it's too dark by the time my friend meets me.

I am absolutely head over heels in love with this outfit! That coat + that fur is just so oh lallallalaaaaaa!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GORGEOUS coat!! I love it with your pink sweater.

Can't wait to wear light colours again! Currently I am mostly in black trousers and boots. I could start with blush and nude tops though. Why wait for spring?
ReplyDeleteI very much doubt my mum (79) would appreciate Fifty Shades of Grey though ;-)
Have a lovely week,
Annette | Lady of Style
I've heard mixed reviews on the movie, but I love love love your coat! I'm so sick of the cold too. Can't wait until it starts warming up.

It's too bad this isn't the fashion equivalent of a weather dance that could end winter for you - that would be pretty spectacular. An it's such a great outfit. I would straight up ruin that white coat in like 15 minutes so I've got nothing but respect that you're carrying it so well.

I applaud you for venturing into the frigid weather all for the blog!! I love the soft colors of this outfit. My girlfriends are I are planning to have a GNO in the next week to watch 50 Shades of Gray. What did you think of it?

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
I'm looking at some really cold highs this week and I thought of you. You are awesome for getting out in a snow storm and taking pictures! I can't wait to see them. I bet they're beautiful. I love the layers and textures as well as the colors in this outfit. I agree-- It's very different from what you've been gravitating towards.
ReplyDeleteIf that "rain dance" works for you, let me know and I will be wearing pastels until it works for me too hehe I am over the cold!! You look fabulous tho--such a pretty girly look :)

I love how you "winterized" these soft, pale shades. Your weekend, despite the cold, sounds pretty perfect too, with the cookie baking and Starbucks mom date :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that coat. Swoon! You did winter pastels so well. Good for you getting out there and taking pictures in the cold. I always have problems with the lighting being crappy. It's so gray here.
ReplyDeleteThese soft colors are so beautiful together! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love that you had a Valentine's Day date with your mom - such a sweet idea! And as for manning up to take photos, well, sometimes the temperature just hits a certain point and it can't be done. Plus, you got cookies out of one missed day of freezing, which I have to say I think there's very little harm in ;) As for this outfit, I actually don't know if I could love it more. While black will always be my favourite colour, there's something about soft shades that works so well in cold wear. And your coat is just gorgeous!

Love that coat! And the pastel pink sweater is gorgeous. Sounds like you had a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteThose Winter Pastels are so soft, rich and beautiful. I love the layered tops. That coat is so pretty, Lydia. =)
ReplyDeleteIm gravitating as well towards pastels. I think it must be wishing Spring is here and maybe it will work, spring will sprung. You look wonderful in these pastels. And how lovely that you had Valentine's Day with you mom.

ReplyDeleteI love pastels for winter; I think they look so fresh. And this is a great combination!
ReplyDeleteobsessed with this coat!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are experiencing such a brutal Winter back there! I keep seeing it on the news and I can't imagine being in that kind of cold. I hope it warms up ASAP.
ReplyDeleteBut on another note, I love the details here. This soft color palette is just gorgeous.
I am in love with your boots, Lydia! The zipper in front is such a unique touch!
