It started off with my bracelet falling off my wrist, and my not realizing this until much after the fact. After frantically searching and retracing my steps, I miraculously found the bracelet in my coat pocket. When I got home I replaced the faulty toggle clasp with a secure lobster clasp.
I wont go into the in-between stuff, but the day ended with my attempting to take outfit photos with the tripod and having the wind blow it over mid-shoot, smack down onto the brick sidewalk. I feared the worst, but because of the way the camera was set up in the tripod when it fell, the tripod took the brunt of the damage and knock-on-wood, the lens and body appear to be unscathed and thus far, functioning normally.
As annoying as the day was, I have to recognize the fact that it could have been far worse. And I'm never going out with the tripod when it's windy, ever again.
Considering that was yesterday, I hope I at least get a break today, Friday the 13th.

OMGOSH!!!! I have lost a camera to that same thing. I have a much sturdier tripod now, but I still carry leg weights that I put on that middle part when it is windy and if it is too windy, I don't go out either! So glad your camera and lens seem to be ok! I'm sorry you had a crappy day but hopefully today will go smoothly for you! And so lucky that you found your bracelet!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything worked out in the end - talk about close calls! And I may have told you this already but that is such an elegant coat, I really love it!

Oh my goodness. I'm so glad the camera and your bracelet are okay! (Seriously, when are toggle closures ever a good idea?!)

I like this all blue look with small green details - oh, and I also dropped my little camera again.
ReplyDeleteIt was on the edge of a wall, as it is everyday. The wind blew.. and it fell right on the lens.
I prayed and then picked it up… it was ok !
Oh no! It seems like bad things like to happen all at once. Glad you found the bracelet and the camera isn't hurt!

Oh gosh - camera mishaps are a sure day ruiner. I would have been a basket case if I watched my camera hit the ground! I must say, though, considering your stress level, you look fabulous. Months into winter, I'm still constantly impressed by how you make your collection of coats look new and fresh every single day! I always feel like I'm seeing a new one, even though I know that often I'm not!
