This was a day when I left the house without running a flat iron over my hair and though it looked okay, until I realized I did not like how it looked at all. Thankfully this hat was in the car to save the day and the outfit photos.

Your hair always looks so perfect...it stands in stark contrast to the hot mess that my scalp is usually rocking.

The idea of perfect bedhead just makes me laugh. But then again, I think on the one or two days of my life when I've woken up with good hair, I haven't even recognized it because I'm so conditioned to think of my hair as something that needs constant fixing and manipulating in order to look nice. But since I'm describing maybe two mornings in my whole life - well, obviously I'm right about my hair. Bedhead is made by hair stylists, as far as I'm concerned, and for the rest of us, there are flat irons, blow driers, curling irons and, when all else fails, hats. If you've ever wondered why I wear hats so often, now you know ;) The good news is, hats also often make an outfit, and the one you're wearing here was the perfect finishing touch to this look.

Such a chic and classic look! And that bag is adorable!
ReplyDeleteSadly hats can't save the day for me...seeing as I only own 2 winter hats, haha

Hats always save my on a bad hair day or when the humidity is going to be bad hence my hair will look awful in about an hour! Dying over this trench! You look amazing!

I understand you but sometimes I don't have a hat to help me!
ReplyDeleteAnyway... you look georgeous!

Your hair always looks nice, but I understand the feeling. Straightening my hair always make me feel better about it :)
ReplyDeleteNo doubt! I hope that if those girls exist, they shut their mouths! As a curly haired woman, I especially know this to be true. If I don't do SOMETHING to my hair almost immediately after the shower, it's gone for the day. Love the hat though and the trench!
ReplyDeleteRight! I would much rather not know that you have perfect locks that you always wake up with them like that. Just don't tell me.
ReplyDeleteI HATE ADS LIKE THAT! Talk about false expectations. I want there to be a disclaimer on all of those ads!
ReplyDeleteI can't even do a decent messy bun! I wear my hair the same way because it's the only way that I know I can make it look decent. Thank goodness for hats! I always like the way this one looks on you. And that trench coat is adorable! Love the classic look!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. This outfit is amazing xx

This look is classic, elegant perfection. And the hat looks made for it. Now that my hair is getting longer I'm going to have to try a hat. I love the idea of throwing one on when I wake up to crazy hair.
ReplyDeleteLove you paired chambray with camel colored trench.

My hair and I have a love/ hate relationship. It pretty much does what it wants and I just go along with it… But you look so adorable in a hat, I would never think you were having a bad hair day!

Creating that super sexy, effortless messy hair takes a lot of work! I never managed it, got fed up and cut my hair. LOL. Another great effortless chic look of your here! Love that transition coat!

Ugh. I know exactly how you feel. I have such fine hair that even the smallest breeze makes it look ridiculous. I've been toying with the idea of buying a straw hat for the beach next month, but I'm not sure if I'll even wear it?

Hats are a lifesaver sometimes! You look great in your hat! I love your white bag and that bracelet!

Gosh bad hair days are the worst!! I'm not a hat person either so if my hair is looking crappy, up in a messy bun it goes (which doesn't even always help!). You are sporting some thrifting gems in this outfit! JBrand jeans are so hard to find in thrift stores. I have a coral pair I love to wear in the spring.

What a great trench -
ReplyDeletei've been having bad hair weeks where I am just adding headbands, bobby pins and hats! to keep myself sane.
I agree, I am loving hats more and more these days for bad hair days or third day hair days. I need a Black Panama Hat and a Camel Coat too. Gosh you look so European-chic, Modern and Sophisticated here. Lovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee it!
ReplyDeleteHats are a life saver good or bad hair days. I don't know how people wake up looking so good, I am not one of them.
