Yes, delicate gold jewelry with geometric and pavé accents are things I like, but the House of Harlow Nilotic Necklace didn't fall right and worse, broke twice throughout the day. (It was a simple fix reconnecting the chain that slipped out of a jump ring, but not something that should happen twice in one day.) The Gorjana Mika Opposition Studs looked great in the photo, but when they arrived and I realized they were microscopic I wasn't too excited. I love studs, but I wan't something that isn't going to get totally lost in my thick tresses. The piece in the box I liked most was the Moon & Lola Beaumont Cuff, but I'm a little bored of these open cuff bracelets.
My trial is ending this month, and I hope my stylist sends me some pieces I really want in my next box, then I might actually make a purchase for once.

While I love the concept of Rocksbox, I've heard really mixed reviews so far - and in particular, a lot about pieces breaking. I suppose it's bound to happen when they're constantly being shipped to temporary new homes, but it's also a really quick way to spoil a member's experience without even trying. That said, despite the fact that it broke twice, I really do love that necklace. (Open cuff bracelets, not so much - how boring to keep receiving them month after month!) The real standout piece in this look for me has to be your sandals, though. The gold sparkle is just too pretty!

I'm sorry you haven't had luck with your Rocksbox -- I've had pretty good luck, but definitely a few times I opened my box and thought, "huh?" You styled these really pretty, though!

Well I do really like that bracelet and necklace, although I'd be irritated too if it kept breaking! I like the idea of Rocksbox, but if I did try a subscription service it would more likely be Stitch Fix or maybe a beauty one. Love that striped skirt though!
ReplyDeleteWell, regardless of the accessories I have to say I think you rock this look.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt looks like something I almost bought this weekend… :)
I love for skirts like yours (here) in the Summer and for Sleeveless Button-down Blouses. Great look and of course Blue is perfect for Summer.
ReplyDeleteYou always have beautiful jewelry on!! Love this neclace..
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable! I love it!

nice outfit..i like your striped skirt

House of Harlow isn't the cheapest jewelry so it shouldn't break like that, even if it was easy to fix. Hopefully it won't happen again. You look lovely in this blue and white ensemble. I love that skirt :) xo
ReplyDeleteyour skirt is a bomb. I love how you paired it with royal blue.. so classy!

Love the necklace you are wearing! I have to say that I am in love with my last box, better than the first one. It's kind of exciting to know what you will receive, and it can be disappointed sometimes. Even though, I'm pleased with the service, I'm not sure about the commintment, as I'm always scared to lose one piece. But I can work for someone else. On another note, I'm loving your white purse!

It's been hit or miss with me too. Still debating if I want to continue with the subscription. Mmmm. Nonetheless, cute outfit and pretty necklace!

I've never tried Rocksbox, but its a shame that the House of Harlow necklace wasn't cooperating because its really pretty. Love your outfit. You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the pieces were breaking - that's a real letdown.

How frustrating that Rocksbox hasn't been working out that well for you. It's nice you get to send it all back instead of feeling like you invested in a piece and it didn't turn out though! I love the pretty blue on you!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried Roxbox, but it seems to be everywhere! Sorry you haven't had that great of an experience :( You look great, though!

Same here, I actually received the same necklace this month and while mine didn't fall apart it didn't quite fall right. Love this look Lydia. What time of day do you take your photos? I feel like I always take mine at the wrong time!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that it kept breaking! That necklace is really pretty!

you look so pretty, I know the feeling with Rockbox but on my last box I finally got the perfect Kendra Scott studs that I wear all the time now. They are usually 45 and I got them for 26, so something good came out of that.

I've liked Rocksbox for the chance to try designers I might not have purchased from otherwise. I had tried a Trina Turk necklace (which I only put on Instagram) and I loved the quality so much that I sprung for a Trina Turk necklace on eBay. It's really a shame that necklace kept breaking because it really is beautiful.

Sorry to hear that Rocksbox has been hit or miss. Love the tank and skirt :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about your piece breaking, that should not happen at all. I haven't been that in love with my pieces either. They are just way more than what I am willing to spend on costume jewelry.

Great look, the striped skirt is stunning on you! I had that same necklace from Rockbox and loved it. Sorry to hear your experience wasn't all that you wanted it to be. Thanks for your honest review though!

I've liked most of my Rocksbox pieces, and have ended up buying two items. That necklace you got is cute, but so annoying that it has broken!
ReplyDeleteSince I handmade jewelry it makes me wonder what kind of quality all pieces are..Because slip out of jumpring twice!!!!???!!..Wow. The magic of photography is that I would never tell that you had such a problem with these pieces, because you look gorgeous and gold with blue looks so chic.

Your necklace is fab! I'm sad to read that it broke repeatedly, as I was going to put it on my wishlist. I think the service overall is very clever and unique, but I have noticed some quality issues like the gold tarnishing quickly or bending out of shape quickly. I'm so glad you wrote an honest review.
