Turn up the brightness

Much unlike the blank canvas of a simple grey dress, this bold floral frock needs little adornment. Being such a statement piece, it also makes it a struggle to remix, and having had it for two years, this is only the fourth time I've worn it.

While looking back at the previous stylings of this dress I started scrolling through my 2013 summer posts, and I must say, I had some great outfits that summer. Would anyone mind if i just duplicated them all?

    I love that you look back at posts from two years ago and really like what you see - I'm hoping I'll get there one day :) But in the meantime, I've actually been thinking of compiling a things I'll never wear again post based on my archives! Seriously, though, the fact that you still love outfits from 2013 shows how well you know your style (and to be honest, no one would be likely to notice few duplicates.) Knowing your style means you can totally pull of a bright dress like this with a mint handbag, something that most of us would absolutely shy away from - and that I know for sure I would!

    Gorgeous, gorgeous dress ! this is a dress to have on hand in those grab and go moments, as all you need is a bag and shoes and you are ready to go.
    When I look back at my files, I usually don't like 70% of them...

    Oh my goodness I LOVE this dress. The print and colors are so pretty, and the cut is so wearable.
    (And isn't it fun to go back and look at archives? I feel the same way about 2012--that has been my favorite year to look back on!)

    I think you've styled it pretty perfectly. I always have a hard time with bold prints because I can never work out the styling totally to my liking...so I've got nothing but respect for you! Also, you can totally duplicate the summer of 2013 - go for it.

    Oh yas, I love the brightness! And I love even more how you added tiny accessories like those two necklaces. So delicate but so effective. You're really making me want to get smaller accessories and bolder prints, Lydia. I gotta experiment more because of you. :)

    You can totally duplicate your outfits. I'd be lying if I said I didn't go through your blog archives every now and then for some inspiration. Remember when you told people to make outfits for you using items in your closet? That was fun.
