No, I was not silently shivering in my lace top, nor running to the shelter of a cozy coat hidden just outside the frame of the photo. It was perfect.
Culottes are sort of murky territory for me. I see others wearing them and I like them, but they never seem quite right on me. I even ended up exchanging this pair for the extra small so they would sit just a bit higher on my waist and be shorter in length, but do they work?
Honestly, I didn't regret wearing them, and I'd been dreaming of putting these pieces together for a while, waiting for just the right occasion.

I think it was the perfect look for the martini making class! I'm still not sure I could pull of culottes, guess I'll have to try some on, haha

Culottes are tough, especially when you start thinking too much about length and cut and rise. It's even worse when you're petite. I was lucky to stumble upon a nearly perfect pair early on in my search, but I still feel like I only really get it right with wearing them about 50% of the time. Suffice it to say you're not alone in your struggles, but if it helps I know that no one else notices the things that we do when we analyse our own outfits. The first thing I thought when I saw this post was how lovely you look in culottes! None of the other stuff you mentioned crossed my mind for a second ;)

LOVE this type of weather- everything is gorgeous + quintessential fall, but the temps are totally bearable.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're rocking the culottes!

Big big fan of culottes and I think you pull these off rather well!
ReplyDeleteI think they work beautifully !
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of culottes I bought 3 months ago that I HAVE NOT worn yet…
Love, love, love this. These culottes are perfect on you and I love the leopard and lace combination with them!
ReplyDeleteFall looks so beautiful in your neck of the woods! I haven't had to chance to hang out in a forest lately :(
ReplyDeleteHahahah, stereotypial fall weather! I love how you described that. But honestly, you just never get bored of the leaves changing, especially when they're as beautiful as they are in your photos! Sometimes I feel like Alabama misses the entire season of fall and goes straight to icky mushy brown leaves. Thankfully, I'm taking in the orange, red, and yellow leaves this year around…
ReplyDeleteI always love those heels, and those pants are so cute on you!
What a beautiful outfit! The top really accentuates your tiny waist.

ReplyDeleteIt definitely works and I love the lace on the Talbot's top!

I definitely think the culottes work! They actually look like a midi skirt. And they look great with the lace top!
