Secret weapon

Long sleeve dresses feel a bit like my secret weapon in the fall when I do not want to wear yet another pair of jeans. Over the knee boots are successfully helping me avoid tights. I can't quite figure out when I started to boycott tights, but I will at least until December every year. And after that I will only really wear black. That is a big switch from when I was obsessed with tights in every color and print under the sun, however I feel it is a move in the right direction.

While there will always be far more denim than dresses in my winter wardrobe, if I can breakup the monotony every once in a while with a carefully layered dress, I'm going for it.

    Love this! The blue and the gray go so well together! I need to pull out more of my long sleeve dresses, haha. But most are more dressy/work appropriate and not casual.
    And yep, no more crazy colored tights for me. Although I do also have navy, burgundy and a light purple/gray in addition to black.

    I know I keep saying this but you keep reminding me - I seriously need to get me a fur vest. Yours is so dreamy. We hit -2 here this morning so I've definitely had to bust out my winter tights.

    Much to my dismay, I've had to break out my tights a few times this year. Like you, I only wear black - I experimented with colours ones in university and they definitely were not my thing. My over the knee boots have saved me from tights a few times but in the rain, they sadly aren't as much help as I want them to be. Still, they make a nice break from jeans, even with tights, and I really do love the grey shade of yours, as I'm sure I've said before - it makes such a nice change from classic black.

    I try to hold out on wearing my tights for as long as possible too when the weather dips - it's a way to try stop myself being thoroughly over them by the time spring comes around, haha! Your dress is beautiful too, great with those boots.

    Love the printed dress with that long faux fur vest! And I hate tights...though recently I've been doing more leggings, I also have some fleece tights and sweater tights that aren't as bad!

    Oh I absolutely love this! I agree about long sleeve dresses, and I think I need a pair of over the knee boots to help me prolong bare legs too! I mostly wear neutral tights now too, although I do like having a few color options to choose from.
