Keep it comfy

Another California purchase was this black maxi dress. Embarrassingly my sister and I went into Gap in pretty much every city we visited, and both ended up buying different black maxi dresses, and then wearing them on the same day, both styled with our chambray shirts. It wasn't intentional but neither of us was going to back down and change. I certainly have no regrets buying it, given the weather and the long drives. Plus it was marked down to $20 and then was an extra 40% off.

It's so great to just throw on when I'm in a rush, the only downside is that unless I decide to hem it, I'll need to always have a heel on, and that my friends, detracts from the comfy, basically pajamas look I'm going for.

    I am still hunting for my perfect black maxi dress - I don't even need it to be $20 and 40% off, I just want one in the right cut and style, preferably that doesn't need hemming, although I know that's a pipe dream. When I do have it, I've envisioned all kinds of ways to wear it but I never thought of it with a scarf and I absolutely love the effortless effect that gives to the look. Plus, that necklace looks amazing with everything!

    Oh no doubt you will not regret that purchase at all--it's such a great, remixable piece! I love how the scarf and pretty pendant necklace really dress it up. I used to have a black maxi dress but I have NO idea where it is... I don't know if I got rid of it in a closet purge or what! I need one though.

    and at a superb price. You wear it so well with that great necklace and of course Chloe is the best accessory ever.
    Gap stores are closing here, soon there will be no Gaps here meaning I will want to buy from the brand again.

    A black maxi is basically a summer staple for me - they are so easy and comfy. And I like the slit detail on yours; definitely a good purchase. But your point about the hem is also well taken, having to to utilize heels does throw off the pj-like ease of it all.
