Truth. I did not wear the fannypack to work. I threw it into my brown tote as I was running out the door that morning because it just seemed too fun not to wear for the photos, and feed into the safari theme I had going with the elephant print skirt and flap-pocket blouse.
While I try to be genuine with my outfit photos 99% of the time, I'll admit there are days when I'm faking it. I'll fake a bag, I'll fake a pair of high heels, I'll fake a smile.

Your fannypack is definitely among my favorite ones! Hey, there isn't anything wrong with faking it once in a while! Outfit posts must get exhausting!

While I love how the fanny pack works into your safari theme, I completely understand why you chose not to wear it to work. I also understand faking, especially when you work in an office. I think my outfits are a lot more genuine now that I work from home, simply because what works in an office/doesn't lead to questionnable comments from co-workers leaves you with such a narrow selection of what you can wear. If I had photographed everything I really wore in my office days, I would have probably been showing the same five outfits week after week!

I'm definitely a shoe faker from time to time! Haha. And we're both doing the safari theme today, how funny!

Appreciate you honesty! I'm not sure if I could pull it off but it works for your look, super cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun skirt! I think your fany pack looks great with it. Sometimes I make little changes too. My blog outfits are always my idea style but not always practical for everyday.

I love that you added the bag--it really does add the perfect touch to the safari-ish elements you have going on here. (That skirt! So fun.) I don't see anything wrong with "faking" elements from time to time. I try to showcase outfits I have worn or plan to wear, but sometimes I'll make little changes (like swapping out shoes, etc.).
ReplyDeleteI like the color combination here - and I understand why you would not wear the fanny bag to work.
ReplyDeleteIn my case what you see is what you get - hit or miss !
I definitely fake it from time to time - mostly with shoes. Sometimes the ones I know are the cutest with an outfit are just not suitable for all day wear!
