Over the weekend I went to the Milford Connecticut Oyster Festival, an occasion I deemed just right to bring out the hip bag. I always appreciate that the festival books real bands rather than cover bands for the entertainment, and this year The Blue Oyster Cult played. Admittedly I knew only two of their songs, but they played well and I enjoyed the show. The only downside is that standing room only at 2:00 p.m. under the hot sun is not very fun. I'm not sure why they don't have the bands go on in the evening, in fact the whole thing, carnival rides, food, vendors and all is wrapped up by 6:00 p.m. the same day. So naturally after the festival, since it was still plenty early, we got ice cream, and I 'snuck' on to this private beach for some outfit photos.
I always avoided that when I lived in Milford, haha. Too many people. But BOC!??? Did they do Don't Fear the Reaper!? haha http://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Oyster Fest - apart from the oysters themselves, I'm a prairie girl and can't bring myself to eat them - sounds like the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon, even if it does mean standing in the hot sun at 2 pm to listen to a band. And although I'm not really a fan of the hip bag, I can't think of a more practical time for it. At summer festivals, you absolutely need both hands - one for your drink, and one for your popcorn/cotton candy/churros/ice cream which is impossible if you carry a traditional purse! xox, Cee
Glad you enjoyed that afternoon even if it was hot. You're certainly aware that you will be missing that sun in a few weeks :) Such a great eyelet top.
Love the Milford Oyster fest! I didn't make it this year, but I agree that it's always so darn steamy. You look great in any case, love that hip bag! xo Annie New England Romance
