If I was supposed to be shopping for fall this month, I guess I didn't get the memo.
I also did all my shopping online, which is somewhat unusual for me, I'm a tactile shopper, shopping as much with my hands as my eyes. But having package arrive in the mail felt like the only way I could motivate myself to get through the days, so as soon as one would arrive, I'd find something else to buy. A Kate Spade dress I didn't know I wanted, a vintage bamboo bag (I admit I've had a bit of a crush on them since they started cropping up, but I knew if I got one I'd want vintage rather than the Cult Gaia reproduction). P.S. you can find a similar reproduction here for $60, and a vintage one here.

Haven't got the time
Thursday, September 29, 2016
I always have running lists of little projects I need to get done in my head; organize my jewelry, clean out the fridge, hem a dress, and so on. If I should be so lucky to have a Saturday sprawled out in front of me, I will seemingly forget everything on that list.
When do I remember I want to clean out the fridge? Eight A.M. on a Monday morning when I've got to be out the door in less than half an hour. How many times have I found myself hemming a dress hours before I want to wear it for an event, or end up in the throes of jewelry drawer clean out when I'm already running late because of a missing earring?
I can never seem to get the sliding scales of time to be in my favor, and I often wonder if I could, would I be living a different, better, happier life?
Furthermore, how is it that whenever I walk into a store with no time to shop that suddenly I'm in love with everything I see?

Fairs are a quintessential part of fall, and while I might not be the first in line to go, I was persuaded to tag along and indulge in all the Fair Food, of which an impressive spread was consumed.
In between seeing all the cute farm animals and clamouring to get a good seat for Nick Fradiani's performance, a few outfit photos were quickly snapped in front of the most lovely barn. It was actually much darker than you'd think, thank goodness for high ISO settings ;)

Summer in Lilly
Tuesday, September 27, 2016
I know it's fall now, but my dress I got from the Lilly After Party Sale arrived earlier this month, and I knew I just had to get one wear in before summer's end. Waiting until the last possible moment, on the last day of summer, Sean and I went to dinner at Shell and Bones in New Haven. The restaurant has some gorgeous water views, and we were treated to a magnificent sunset along with our delicious meal.

Friday five under $50
Friday, September 23, 2016
This week felt particularly long, and I'm feeling a bit of relief that Friday has arrived.
I'm really sorry but the fabulous tote has already sold out, however do check out the other pieces in the BP line, there are some very affordable and trendy things worth giving a glance.
So long summer

I don't much care for fall. This is a very difficult position to take, as every other person in the northern hemisphere is currently over the moon, gleefully layering on sweaters and hats, even if the temperatures are still climbing to 80° by mid afternoon.
I find it hard to love fall because all I can think about are the days getting shorter, the impending holidays, and the inevitable, painfully long, cold winter which will follow. Maybe someday I'll learn to live in the present and enjoy fall. Until then, I'm going to dress like it's summer before the cold actually hits.

Zebras on parade
Tuesday, September 20, 2016
All summer I just kept craving the same simple, soft, easy dresses, so naturally the temptation to add another to my closet was not too hard to resist.
Evidently I have a sudden affinity for Lilly Pulitzer, and this terry tee shirt dress I got through Poshmark for $30 checked all my boxes for a summer dress I could wear to work and on the weekends.
The zebra print is really cute and kind of abstract, and I love the V back and the buttons.
I also tried this dress on backwards, and it totally works!

If you've gotten on board with the culottes trend, then I'd highly recommend this pair. The faux suede is the softest, most comfortable material, and they are on sale for $20 right now.
While I'm just barely dipping my toes into fall fashion (expect to see quite a bit more summer still) I was getting very anxious to take these culottes for a spin, and I think I'd like to get a couple more wears in while it's still warm, I've got a crop top in mind for them.
