If there is anything I've learned from any of the self help books I've read, it's that to have a happy life, every day you must recount all the things you are grateful for in your life, be they big or small, and that is always something I've struggled with doing. But it's the week of Thanksgiving, and no better time to put forth the effort and be thankful.

I am such a freaking pessimist but I love encountering people with attitudes that are much more positive than mine - also, I'm sorry about all the hassle your neighbour's apartment remodel is causing, it sounds awful!

You're so right Lydia---we are extremely blessed in so many aspects of our lives!!
ReplyDeleteThe important thing is to try to recognize it and remember it daily!!
Love the outfit---you look fabulous!

Water pouring from the ceiling?! You are so zen about this now- I would be freaking outtttttt. And raging. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of choosing happiness, gratefulness. And counting your blessings- it's so important!
Love the flats and leopard too, lady.

Love the leopard. It's tough sometimes to remember all the good things we have.

Oh gosh, I know the *ahem* joys of water pouring through the ceiling all too well. We've lived through it four separate times in three apartments, all for different reasons, luckily never sustaining too much damage, but still, what a pain! Here's to hoping you get to relax somewhere dry this Thanksgiving weekend ;) I love seeing these flats every time you wear them, I kick myself for not running to the Gap when they had them in stock because they are perfect.

So so true! I always try to see the positive side of things. Sometimes it's a bit hard but I'm pretty good at keeping my negativity in check

I hear you. I am the one who sees all the "bad" things first... I see myself as a realist and not much of an optimist. Regardless it is true, there are so many things to be grateful for. Right now we have a storm nearby and today is the third day of non stop rain. News show floods and people's homes filled with water and how trees have fallen on cars and children have died and I feel terrible for complaining about a small leak in the balcony ceiling..
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. We should always try to be grateful for the little things. I'm grateful that the holidays are approaching so soon! :]

It's so true -- it's much easier to complain than be grateful. It sounds like you've had a rough few days, but I'm sure it will look up soon! And I like your spin on rocking different coats during this (very) cold spell.

I agree with this post! I try to find things everyday that make me happy and find the happiness is small things!

I am so sorry about what happened with your apartment but so glad you could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Cannot wait to see all your gorgeous coats this season and how you style them. This is a great Thanksgiving look, too.
ReplyDeleteOn the blog today I styled a similar black moto jacket, but with a dressy dress. Come take a peak. And my linkup will be live tomorrow, a day early due to Thanksgiving. ;-)
This is a good week for counting your blessings :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cool look! Love the leopard top and the jacket!

I agree, it's so important to be grateful and take time to count the little blessings in life. So sorry to hear about the leak though, that does not sound fun! Hoping it's not costly to fix and it's only a really minor one.
ReplyDeleteOn an outfit note I like your printed top with the black leather jacket :)
