The weekend was bright and chilly, and between running errands Sean and I went to New Haven for lunch and I had to take advantage of the Yale Campus for photos - not that it was easy - this is such a traversed area that we had to keep stopping to wait for people to pass and it was freezing! At least I'm wearing tights, which hopefully you can't really tell, as they are a brilliant new type of pantyhose called Convertibles that feature a toe you can flip up to wear peep toe shoes. It's so simple, and so clever. The extra seams at the toe are barely visible, and they are just as comfortable to wear. Being able to wear tights and show off my pedicure for the holidays is win-win. They come in nude and black and can also be rolled up to ankle length, to be worn like leggings which means they are three for the price of one, and are already under $20. I've already worn mine about half a dozen times and they are holding up fabulously - I'm usually the person who gets a run the first wear, so I'm quite impressed.

It's such a brilliant idea Lydia!
ReplyDeleteMy mom has a pair kinda like these but the toe doesn't flip up---it's just open.
Because I have to admit, I've never loved the hose with open toed shoes look---it's seems so grandmotherly (which I could be, but still).
I'll have to try these out!

I was going to ask about the anchor necklace and see you made it ! You've been crafty - it looks great.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should make another one and host a giveaway... :)
I had not heard of those tights with the flip toe, but it does seem so smart oh and that dress is beautiful.
What a great idea! I love this dress on you as well!
ReplyDeleteThis leopard coat is soooo good, doll- love it! Super festive, too.

Just the idea of taking photos on the Yale campus seems absolutely dreamy - even if the reality is that there are a million people walking around and you wind up freezing to do it ;) I can't think of a more appropriate look for a visit to Yale, either; your coat and dress together are so elegant and sophisticated. The drop waist on the dress is a detail I especially love; I haven't had anything with a drop waist for years and I think I need to change that!

I always love seeing photos around my alma mater (and yeah, there's always a ton of people walking around though!) - and I really, really love that dress on you. It's quite lovely.
