Last week I was invited to the Grand Opening Gala at the newly renovated Lord & Taylor in Stamford CT. Each of the three floors of the store were completely redone to add modern finishes and innovations, like call buttons in the dressing rooms and cellphone charging kiosks. The ribbon cutting event featured two special guests, Victoria Justice and John Starks, and the red carpet treatment was extended to all the shoppers of the evening.
I brought my sister along with me and the moment we walked through the doors we were offered our choice of drink, and then my sister got whisked off for a mini makeover! There were passed hors d'ourves during the first part of the evening, which then progressed to desserts - I think I tried one of every dessert!
The newly renovated store also expanded it's product lines to offer several new brands and well as extended sizes, and there is even a new Rebecca Minkoff pop-up shop, where I got to swoon over this navy velvet purse.
Even though the whole store was full of amazing discounts, heels on my feet, clutch under my arm, camera on the other and drink in hand did not make shopping the easiest feat, so I mainly just enjoyed the festivities.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great skirt (or is it a dress?)
And that's great restraint to only enjoy the night and not actually buy anything. I need to do that more often---ha ha!

Events like this are so much fun - I'm heading out to one tonight and even though we're supposed told press for the red carpet and it's way too cold for anything like a red carpet outfit, I'm really looking forward to it. The newly redone Lord & Taylor looks lovely. I have to admit, I'm totally obsessed with the flower wall, it's just so pretty! I'm sure it was only temporary, but still, what a beautiful touch :)

That sounds like fun, and I know what you mean--it's hard to actually shop at events like that. We don't have a Lord & Taylor here but it looks like they have some great stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a wonderful time --- and I am also now swooning over that little velvet purse....

Oh wow that velvet RM bag was almost too good to pass up - but there are several cheaper options in stores. You looked fab in that skirt and how cool that you got to hang up with your sis.
ReplyDeleteOMG you met John Starks?? I love him!
