Winter Green

My positive attitude promises a coming year of great happiness and success.

Monday has a way of sneaking up on me, but I can't say I didn't have a lovely weekend. I met up with Meg on Saturday for some outfit photos, lunch, and coffee - nothing is more crucial for the blog on these short winter days than being able to get in a few outfits over the weekend, and getting to do it with another blogger always makes it enjoyable and efficient!

We got another dose of snow, a bit more than the 'dusting' predicted, but I suspect it will disappear like the last bout just as quickly.

On Sunday I baked an apple pie, Sean roasted a chicken, and it was the perfect low-key day to wrap up the weekend.

Is it strange to plan an outfit around a coat? Because while I wouldn't typically opt to wear head to toe black, I knew I wanted something minimal to just let the coat shine.

    I don't know whether or not it's strange, but I very often plan my winter outfits around the coat I'm going to be wearing - whether we like it or not, when it's cold, our coats are the pieces we wear most and the pieces that people notice most. That's why I invest in so many of them (or at least that's how I rationalise the fact that I do.) And this one is such a gem, it deserves to have all of the attention in this look!

    I've actually planned many an outfit around a good coat so I don't find it weird at all - and that's such a striking jacket that it totally calls for such special treatment.

    I wouldn't plan an outfit around any of my winter coats, but that is because my coats aren't nearly as pretty as yours! I love the color of this one!

    I think it was a great idea to plan the outfit considering the coat. It's a beautiful garment.

    It is perfectly acceptable to plan an outfit around a coat, especially one as fabulous as that one. I got that from BR and it is one of my very favorites!! (Which reminds me it is still at my parents' house... but it is too warm to wear it anyway right now).
