"I change my destiny by changing my thoughts."
No season is more fickle than spring. I love it - the flowering trees, the fact that my tulips come back every year even though I do nothing, the extra daylight hours and, the feeling that all things are bursting with potential - but the weather in New England isn't always the best. Days range from gorgeous and warm, to slightly chilly, to just dismal and cold. It can make getting dressed a challenge, and it's nice to have pieces like maxi dresses to provide a little extra warmth on those days when I can't bear the thought of wearing pants yet again.
I wore this to Church a couple sundays ago, I'm sure you can guess which one by my little extra 'accessory'. When we first started attending this church I was really happy that it was close enough we could walk - I mean five minutes or less - yet we've only managed to walk once. Some of the days it was legitimately not feasible with snow, but most of the time it's just me, running late. This week, weather permitting, I want to walk.

Spring can definitely be rough when it comes to dressing! I was in shorts over the weekend and then yesterday it was cold and rainy! I love this pretty maxi on you!

It's nice that the weather cooperated so you could wear this perfect spring outfit - it's perfect for church and just for a Sunday stroll in general.

I have loved it when we have lived close enough to church to walk. It's so nice on warmer days. Love that pretty floral dress on you! It's lovely for church!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the idea of walking places---every time we'd come home from visiting NYC, I'd want to walk to our errands!! But it's just not super feasible around here!
ReplyDeleteBut I love this maxi!!

Your radiant Lydia!
ReplyDeleteThe idea of walking to church sounds like a nice one, and you look so pretty - specially love the colors of the dress and the matching shoes.
I'm sure I've said it before, I can walk to work but I don't mostly because the weather is waaaaay too hot and I'd be a pool of sweat when I got there. However sometimes I do.
Spring in KC can be very similar- super warm + gorgeous one day, then a cold front moves in and we're smacked with thunderstorms and then a super chilly day the next.
ReplyDeleteI love that chic blazer over the maxi! Awesome styling, lady.

I always love Palm Sunday! You look gorgeous in your floral with the white blazer! Spring is fickle though not quite so much here in Oklahoma.

Such a pretty look! I love the necklace! I've been so bad about church the past few years since I moved out of my parents house. I just never feel like making the trek to go. Plus I dislike the new priest, UGH! (and the new singer can't sing at all, haha)

Spring really is such a strange time for dressing, isn't it? I have found it particularly odd this season as we are travelling a lot while the seasons change - I started in a heavy coat, but have mostly worn my leather jacket. In case of rain, I brought my heavier coat to Venice and have found I would have likely been freezing without it, whereas it's been too hot to wear it in Paris for weeks! But I suppose this is the price we pay for all the wonderful things that spring does bring us :)

That is a beautiful maxi dress and I really like the green flats with it! :) Maxis are good for so many seasons, I like that they give you coverage when it's cooler but catch a breeze when it's warmer.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed you can walk to church this week - it's nice you have one so close!
Hope you are having a great week and have a wonderful weekend ahead of you :)
