I think sometimes the best bonus of the three day weekend is how we are now that much closer to the weekend ahead. I also realize how much I miss the luxury of working part time and having three day weekends every week. Good times.
These photos barely made it to the blog. We were in a rush and the sun and wind were not being agreeable to the time constraints and instead chose to make things as difficult as possible by continually blowing my hair in my face, and switching from bright sunlight to overcast minute to minute. Let's not discount the brilliance of heels on crushed stone either.
Nonetheless, I was quite pleased with my layering of blue and white with more blue and white and how perfectly preppy I was dressed for brunch at the Griswold Inn in Essex. One thing I failed to notice before I cut the tags off this tote was the bottom two inches are a different color. Actually I didn't notice until I started editing these photos, as when looking at the bag up close, the variant is undetectable, however at a slight distance, there it is. I wonder if TJMaxx will still take it back, because now that I see it, it's going to drive me crazy.

I'm so glad that you added these to the blog - it's a lovely outfit and such a great back drop for photos. I squealed a bit when I read that you visited the Griswold; I used to love visiting that place (and Essex in general)!

This was a great outfit to include, Lydia!! I know what you mean that sometimes nature and the photos aren't as perfect as I want---but this outfit was too good to ignore!!
ReplyDeleteHow funny about the purse---because I notice it too in the photos?

Great match of the cardi and dress-- oh and if you had not said anything about the bag, well I may not have noticed it... but, I'd probably take it back as if I know something will drive me bonkers just by looking at it, there is no use in having it around. I've got enough tormenting me ;)
ReplyDeleteThis blue and white look is divine! I am so glad you decided to put it on the blog. Love your sweater.

I actually kind of like the contrasting straw on the bottom of your tote - I think it's a fun detail. Despite all of the challenges with getting this outfit photographed, I do think it was worthwhile that you did it, and shared the photos, because the outfit really is perfect for brunch and the location couldn't be lovelier!

Too bad about the bag, it is so cute. I recently bought a white shirtdress with navy stars. Love your similar one and how it is styled. There is something both French and Chanel-esque about this outfit, Lydia. =)
