Two things are happening right now amongst the blogs I follow. First is talk of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Second, everyone is in a field of flowers. Since my feelings about the Nordstrom sale are that if everyone is posting about it, then people are going to get tired of hearing about it before it even starts, so I present to you: Field of Lavender.
If I have to pick a cliché, it's not going to be the one where I try to sell you stuff. Just me, melting in the sun on what will likely be recorded as the hottest day of the year. I honestly Photoshopped some of the sweat off my face (don't judge). My plans to arrive early enough to beat the direct overhead sun clearly went awry, as my plans to be a morning person often do, but when you drive 40 minutes to take photos, you simply make the best of it. At least this year some of the lavender was actually in bloom!

I feel the same way about the Nordstrom sale...it gets so tiring to hear it over and over. So I'll take the lavender fields any day. We were going to go to the festival by us in 2 weeks, but my hubby signed us up for a writing course instead. So I'll just have to dream about it..LOL!!

That's seriously such a dreamy place to take photos - I can't imagine a more lovely background. And you might also have picked the perfect print to set against it.

There's so many things I love about this post. I can't stop swooning over the lavender fields. I would love to go to one, one day. And I love your gingham dress. It is so perfect!

Oh I much prefer the field than the Nordstroms sale. Its like I am being stalked.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress !
Well you look absolutely radiant! And I have such mixed feelings about the Nordstrom sale. I love Nordstrom and have shopped the sale every year before bloggers got involved. But now it’s so in your face that I’m not sure I can even bring myself to promote it! There’s gotta be a balance ;)
ReplyDeleteYou've got some serious photoshop skills, girl! Teach us your ways!! And I hear ya on the Nordstrom sale. I decided to scale back how much to buy/post because I'm already tired of hearing about it LOL :)

haha I'm on no buy july and it seems everyone is sharing sales - so much temptation! YOu got some beautiful photos, that dress looks perfect for beating the heat.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to know how you can photoshop sweat though, something I can't avoid in the summer months with the heat and humidity. I look as disheveled as I feel sometimes!
Hope you are having a lovely start to your week! It's a cold one here in Brisbane! No heat worries here!

I appreciate that you decided to post about the lavender field and not the NSale. I think these photos are quite beautiful. No shame in getting rid of the sweat off your face, lol. I happen to be a morning person, but that means I can easily get up at 6am. What I can't do is get up at 6, get ready, apply makeup and get to a shoot location by 7am. I don't know how some bloggers do it, lol. Also -- great cuff!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gingham summer dress and the wedges are perfect!

I'll take a lavender field over the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale any day. I love a good sale as much as the next person, but I can pick out the things I want to buy without any added help and/or temptation, thankyouverymuch. Plus, lavendar is lovely and its season is shortlived, while there will always be some other sale at Nordstrom. Cliche or not, lavender is always lovely and, in my opinion, was made to be paired with gingham. There's something so very Brigitte Bardot about these photos, and it's wonderfully glamourous.

Oh gosh, your behind the scenes commentary cracked me up. This is my first summer of taking outdoor photos and yikes. It presents a few challenges for sure! I'm also with you on not posting about the Nsale. I don't really see what more I could possibly contribute that everyone else hasn't shared!

I love lavender! It's beautiful and smells so nice! These photos turned out really well! Your dress is beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous Lydia!! I don't blame you for photoshopping the sweat... you do what you gotta do. It's hot! I love that gingham dress too and was pleasantly surprised to see that it's from Old Navy!
ReplyDeleteYou really can't go wrong with this classic print, so pretty, especially for dresses! Such an adorable summer look on you dear.

What wonderful summer photos! I've always wanted to run through lavender fields in the South of France, but should just drive to CT when I'm in town!
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower fields will be blooming in a month or so and I'm pumped!
