A couple of weeks ago I met up with another blogger who said one of her bucket list photo shoots was in a laundromat. Thankfully a quick google image search lead me to the 50's themed Sock Hop Laundromat in Milford, CT. Then I pondered what I should wear.
Typically I don't play "dress-up" here, what I post is what I've worn in my real life, be it an event or just to the grocery store. However, when presented with the idea of the laundromat I thought of how laundry day is often used as an excuse for wearing something ridiculous. Not that such a thing has ever happened to me, because I have more than enough clothes in my closet even if half of them were in the dirty pile, also I have no qualms about grabbing a top out of the hamper, giving it a quick steam and wearing it again. For this post though, I decided to play into the idea of having nothing clean left but a gown, and this poor maxi dress had never been worn since I added it to my closet over a year ago, so it felt like a good opportunity to show it off, have a little fun, and play dress-up.

That dress is so pretty! Glad you finally had a good to break it out! Sometimes playing dress up is so fun. And that laundromat looks so nice! (I've never actually been to one but they all look scary, haha)

I love the idea of the laundromat photoshoot, although I've never done one myself - and although I love every single one of these photos, the last one, with you sitting on the floor in your gown, waiting for your "laundry" to be done, is the best one by far. The look on your face absolutely sells it. Although constantly playing dress for the purpose of running a blog is silly, once in a while it can be a lot of fun :)

Damn, you look so amazing in that dress! I love how fun this looks (and wish my laundry uniform weren't a pair of maternity shorts and a tattered t-shirt). This is awesome.

Omg I've been thinking about doing a shoot in a laundromat shoot! I saw someone do it and it adds a cool retrovibe to it and creates an editorial look. These photos are cute and I love that you decided to wear that dress! SO fun!

ReplyDeleteI hope that you are having a nice start to your week so far! It's a little colder here after a warm weekend but the rain is welcome :)

Such a fun shoot! I love that you picked a dressy dress too! The black goes well with the white interior.
