Chill in the Air

I felt like I needed to pull out these white pants before it got too much later into the fall season, not that I don't enjoy wearing white year round, but these are a somewhat thin satin and wont tolerate much cooler weather.

I'm a little disappointed that these pants were final sale and I ordered a size four petite instead of sizing up to the six. I should know by now that the petites always run smaller overall, and I should size up! The fit isn't too bad, but I do believe they were meant to be a touch looser and when I sit for even five seconds they get terribly wrinkled. When I edited these photos I actually went over them with the skin softening brush in Lightroom to help downplay their state of wrinkledness.

That aside, these pants were a total steal, and right now are only $11! I could almost justify buying the alternate size, but I probably wont. I just hate final sales.

  1. The perils of hedging about petite sizing - this is a quandry I know all too well. I tend to like my clothes on the oversized side, but then often hesitate about pushing to one more size up, because I worry I'll look like I'm drowning in whatever I'm buying. It's a fine balance and one that I don't think anyone gets right every time. That said, these trousers are absolutely gorgeous and I can't believe what a steal they are - even in Canada, the price is below $20, which never happens. I may have to snag a pair myself!

  2. Petite sizing can be difficult to figure out sometimes. Sometimes they run small and times they run true to size. But based on the photos, those pants look like they fit you well and I like how they look on you! I love how this outfit has a parisian feel to it!

  3. Final sale is always scary, isn't it. They don't look bad but I hate when things get wrinkly! Loving the neutral tones of the look

  4. You'd never guess from looking at these shots that the fit wasn't spot on - and that's definitely a steal in terms of price. I really like them.

  7. I always think twice (or 4-5 times) before final sale items. But sometimes you can really score! Those pants do look really nice on you and I like the lightweight texture of them! That scarf looks great with your sweater too!

  8. For the price I could definitely overlook a few wrinkles! :) I'm so wary about ordering final sale items. I picked up a pair of shoes this month from a brand I know in the size I know is mine in that style, but I had second thoughts before buying when it had big 'final sale no returns' warnings, haha! I bought them in the end, they fit perfectly thankfully!

Hope that you are having a great week :) I've been sick for most of it but I'm starting to feel better :)

  10. I hear your final-sale woes. I have had a beautiful red coat that I've been trying to get rid of for years that was final sale but too tight in the arms! This look is so beautiful though. Everything ties together so nicely!

  11. Final sale is always a gamble for me, too- I'm like, WAIT I WANT IT and it's on sale, but then you know you're stuck with it! I actually really dig the way you've styled these trousers!

  13. I like those pants on you--to me the fit looks great! The style and price are tempting, but I very rarely do a final sale, unless I'm in the store actually trying it on.
