Thank you to Joe's New Balance Outlet for sponsoring this post.
It's taken a long time for me to find a rhythm with going to the gym regularly. I can't really be trusted if left to my own devices, so I've found three classes to attend throughout the week, and have even become friendly with my instructors and classmates who will know if I skip a workout.
While I've always been one of those people who feels like running errands in workout clothes is just not an acceptable thing to do, as more and more cute workout and post-workout clothes saturate the market, my resolve has crumbled, just a little.
Joe's New Balance outlet recently sent me over this cozy En Route Sweater, and I'm in love. It's light, gauzy, and allows me to feel put together if I'm making stops before or after my workout. Because I recently added a Saturday morning class to my schedule, post workout errands and even having breakfast out have become my reality.
The problem with really cute workout clothes and sneakers (the kind I'd actually wear out of the gym anyway) are that they are so expensive. I'm not about to justify spending $70 on a pair of sneakers or $100 on a pair of leggings when I could spend that on pumps and a dress. Thankfully there are places like Joe's New Balance Outlet, which offers huge discounts on workout clothes - yes there are even the New Balance for J.Crew pieces! And since their Cyber Monday sale has been extended through today, snagging up to 70% off apparel and select footwear styles, plus getting free shipping means cute sneakers like these 501 Ripple Soles are a mere $42, and I can fill my closet with cute workout clothes without feeling as though I'm sacrificing my whole clothing budget.

I love a good oversized knit for layering! You make it look it look so chic for the gym!

I am with you--I don't want to spend a ton of money on workout wear either. I do need another pair of tennis shoes though and I love that style! I'm not a big "athleisure" person either but it's growing on me!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!! I'm so bad with working out, especially because I don't want to go to a gym and deal with strangers, haha!

I definitely struggle with cute workout clothes and the price tag - finding cheaper options (considering the hell I put them through when I actually work out in them...).

That looks like such a cute knit! :) it's great you've not only found an exercise routine that works for you but clothing that works for your lifestyle too :) I do have a few workout leggings but I never got to wear them much before getting pregnant with my second. Now I'm too exhausted to do any more exercise after chasing the boys all day, but I figure that counts as exercise, ha!
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a great week so far! It's been hot and dusty here, summer has arrived! :)

I hear you! There's no way I'm spending full price on workout clothes when that money could go toward something I'd wear all day! You look adorable in your new pieces!

Gosh, I feel the same way about workout wear. I realize cute gear makes you feel better about your workout, but it's hard to justify a huge price.

This outfit is almost too cute to work out in! I love those tennis shoes and that pretty sweater! It's hard to find a rhythm and routine for getting to the gym. I have struggled with that since having kids. It's a battle for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh that sweater is gorgeous! I love that it's an easy layer and that you're able to wear it over your workout clothes and look so chic!

Okay I used to not believe the whole dressing cute thing for the gym but now I am like oh I am matching in my top and pants?! I am an adult who has her life together!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely live in my workout clothes. I never thought I would, but when I started working from home, I found I didn't take breaks unless it was to exercise - so now I have my whole work day scheduled around exercise because it forces me away from my desk. That said, it means that in the summer I also often continue to wear my workout clothes after work, unless I'm doing something exciting. And I'm sad in the winter when it's too cold for them. But still, I always buy workout clothes on a budget - after all, something meant to sweat in and destined for repeat washing should not be a splurge! It will never last long enough to be worth it.
