The foliage by the Milford duck pond was looking brilliant, orange to my right, yellow to my left, and just enough cloud cover for that perfect even light. Even though I was only out enjoying the weather for a couple hours, I can admit it was my idea of a perfect fall day.
I wore this outfit to the opening of the new Dave and Buster's, the sneakers were a calculated move in case there was Dance Dance Revolution, sadly there was not. I debated sharing the photos I took there and writing a post, but I don't think I will. Mostly because I was a bit underwhelmed by the games. Everything was too big and too bright - how can you play a game if your eyes can't even take in the whole landscape? Also the titles were underwhelming, tell me again why I'd want to play Fruit Ninja with my finger on a 36" screen? But really the lack of DDR was the biggest fault in my eyes. Even though I'm sure I would have failed in five seconds because I'm ten years out of practice, I still would have loved to play.

No Dance Dance Revolution at an arade just seems like blasphemy to me. I was never great at it but it was the only game that I ever came close to being good at, a pattern that has held through to adulthood - I tried playing a single VLT in Vegas last year, just to say I'd done it, and the whole experience was beyond confusing. I suppose it's a skill I'll just ever develop, and I can live with that. What I cannot live with is the fact that we got about one day of beautiful fall weather this year. I did get to go out and enjoy it, and while it was wonderfully sunny, it was also already cold, so a heavy sweater, scarf and gloves were involved. This day looks absolutely idyllic.

Uh no Dance Dance Revolution? HOW DO YOU EVEN STAY IN BUSINESS! I will admit that I cracked up AND also admired your planning when you said why you were wearing your tennis shoes. They look chic!

I love that you went there prepared for Dance Dance Revolution! And that you were able to get in an iced coffee this late in the year.

I love that you wore the converse! Makes for a much more comfortable for a fun night of games!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute dress! Smart move with the sneakers too but it's too bad they didn't have DDR! I'm not a huge game person anyway but I'm sure I'll make my way over to the new D&B soon enough.

Love love this dress and how you made it casual with the tennis shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! The sneakers make it so fun I think, although too bad you weren't able to do any DDR. It's been a while since I've been to a Dave and Busters, but I got my arcade fill from a recent Chuckee Cheese birthday party. Oh boy.
ReplyDeleteLOL your post is killing me!!! I totally get the feeling "this is going to happen, dang it, i want photos of this outfit!"
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute dress and I love the Converse with it! I need to wear dresses and Converse more often before our weather heats up too much for closed in shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame the event wasn't as good as you expected and you didn't get to play the game you wanted.
Hope that you are having a good week so far :)

Ok, first - I LOVE Dave & Busters and second - that dress is so cute for Fall!! It would be perfect to layer with a cute jacket when the weather gets cooler!!
ReplyDeleteDance Dance revolution? I know that's still a huge draw for people. It's not fun when you go somewhere and it's blah. At least you look super cute and I love the tennis with the dress!

I love the print against the pretty tree! And those zipper pockets are amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a Dave and Busyers sadly! And I can't believe there was no DDR - that's my fave!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute casual look! I love the leopard with the chucks!

I feel like I'm the only person that has never been to Dave & Busters! That sounds awesome. I'm loving your dress, too :)

I love the dress and tennis shoes together! That is such a cute dress too! I haven't been to Dave and Busters in years! I wouldn't even know how to play half of the games!
ReplyDeleteYay for a perfect fall day and great pictures :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress, I bought white sneakers months ago and have yet to style them with a dress... or anything as i had originally planned to.
