Because I'm somewhat ridiculous, rather than buying the blazer in the store, I instead went to shop H&M online, so that I could use a coupon to get 25% off the $50 price tag.
Only then I went to Target where I found another plaid blazer which looked so similar to the H&M blazer, however it had been clearanced to $25. Naturally I had to buy it, and then, took to Instagram to poll everyone as to which blazer I should keep.
I'd been leaning towards the Target blazer, just because it was cheaper, but the H&M blazer won the poll in a landslide, and what finally got me to make the decision was the sleeve length - it's a slight difference, but when you are as short as I am, that quarter of an inch actually makes quite an impact.

I admit - I was one of the many people who voted for the H&M blazer. On the one hand, the difference in the two blazers was not nearly as significant as the price difference between them. But seeing this one again, I know why I voted the way I did. The difference in how sophisticated this blazer books compared to the one from Target more than explains the price difference. To my eye, it could be a $100 blazer - maybe even a $200 blazer somewhere that is notoriously overpriced. And people would buy it at those prices. I love the way you've styled it here, so simply and effortlessly - it really does look like a piece that could have been in your wardrobe all along, it fits in so well with your other pieces.

It's such a fun blazer! I think the little details are what makes it worth the slight price difference.
ReplyDeleteAnd yea, I'm trying to wear all my blazers while I still can, haha! So far only worn 2, but I'm working on it!

I always feel the need to buy blazers during the Fall and you are so right and I don't get much wear out of them. Either its not cool enough to wear them or it is to cold to just war the blazer alone. And layering them under a coat is too bulky haha. I love that you got that H&M blazer. It is priced well and so cute!

I was also a supporter of the H&M blazer, and seeing these images leaves me feeling really confident in my choice. I think it looks great on you!

I'm glad you kept this one! I think it's really flattering on you with the tie waist! Your scalloped top is such a pretty layer underneath too!
ReplyDeleteI really like this blazer. The tie front is unique and it fits you perfectly! I have a couple blazers that I love wearing for fall!

I'm one of those that voted for this H&M blazer, Lydia. I just thought the belt was a nice touch. Besides, the less you have to alter it, the better (if you're anything like me).
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking I should get one too...it's totally up my alley. But I have that need thing too----I DON"T need it..ha ha!!

This blazer doesn't look like it's from H&M, it looks so much more expensive. I got one from Target last year and I'm still rocking it.

I'm glad you kept this one, it's a lovely blazer and I like that tie detail! :) It's good when there is a lot of choice around, but tricky when it means you're stuck picking between two similar things! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a nice week :)

Hey, I'm back, and I'm not gonna lie -- the poll results got it right. I'm happy you went with the H&M blazer. The sleeve length and the tie front make all the difference. I love how you paired it with the scallop top. Off to go get my hands on that awesome bag!

I think you made the right choice! The tie-waist detail on that blazer makes it so fun. I also hate how short blazer weather is. I feel like some of mine always go un-worn this time of year too because it gets to be too cold and I just can't shove them under a coat, as much as I wish I could.
ReplyDeleteLovely blazer dear. I like the tie-front style, such a fun touch.

It's very cute! I love the poll feature - what a great way to get opinions! This was a good one and I love H&M blazers. They're such good quality for a generally less-expensive store!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My plaid blazer is from the men's vintage section ;) I loved these two, it was a hard pick.
