I always admire the bloggers who's outfit photos feel crafted, planned, staged. I know that life just doesn't occur in photogenic conditions naturally, such things require a lot of time and effort. I always want more, that production element.
Yet most days, it comes down to getting it done. Find a cute spot, snap the photos, hope the light is in my favor, run and put money in the meter, get home to the dog. And on bitter cold days like this one, skip the detail shots.
At least I finally wore this Rachel Comey sweater, which I purchased via eBay back in the spring. It's been tucked away in my sweater drawer, waiting for the first properly cold day. This sweater is really lovely, but even still, I could have waited longer.

Very nice ensemble!
ReplyDeleteI am always impressed by the self-control you display in waitign to wear new pieces until the weather is more-or-less suitable. If I buy something, I want to wear it now - preferably out of the store, with the tags still on if neccessary. I could never have let this beautiful sweater wait until the fall if I bought it in March. I would have found some reason to wear it with denim shorts in May, if not sooner. And yet, it was obviously worth the wait, because how wonderful to have something new in the fall when you spent the money six months ago or more. I just love the texture on this sweater too, I have to say - the fringe detail on the bottom reminds me of a ballet costume, in the most chic possible way.

Ahh what a fun sweater! I always like the light in your photos and it certainly never seems rushed. I definitely don't have the time for photos so I can appreciate the different poses and types of shots you pulled off!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this sweater! Also you would NEVER know that you were rushed because these photos are gorgeous!! I know the struggle is real, but for what it's worth, we can never, ever tell! They are always pristine.

I would totally have worn that as soon as I purchased it (I love it, by the way), rather than waiting until it was seasonally appropriate to do so. But that's probably why I can safely say that I have very little self-discipline...

Such a fun top - glad you could give it a wear! :)
ReplyDeleteI admire the people who can go to a location just for photos with a flawlessly coordinated outfit too! I have to snap a photo on my way out for the day, that's the only time I have any chance of getting an outfit that looks okay and hasn't been messed up by my clumsiness or one of the kids, or the dog, haha! When the boys are older I'd like to try take photos in different places, but for now I'm going to continue my same old photo spots haha!
Hope that you are having a nice week so far :)

For the record, your photos always look fabulous, professional, crafted and planned. That being said I always envy other bloggers that have appear to have all the time in the world and the only thing they have to worry about is their blog and it's photos. :)

I wish I had the time or methods to get the perfect shots, locations, and such. But I work full-time and sometimes over-time and I am a full-time mom. It never happens. I always think your photos are wonderful. That fringe sweater is gorgeous and so unique. Love the gradient beige and the oversized fringe. Fabulous bag and pumps, too.
