It is always said that if you wait long enough, everything comes back again. Considering these pants where secondhand and therefore from a previous iteration of leopard pants being on trend, it makes me wonder just how old they are, and just how infrequently things are new, merely re-imagined. Which is what these pants were by the way - when I got them they had flared legs. I did wear them once in that state before taking to my sewing machine and giving them the skinny silhouette you see.

It really is true that what goes around, comes around. Seeing all of the animal prints that are on trend this season takes me back to my teen years, when I bought a pair of tiger print boots. Everyone still remembers them, mostly because everyone ehre thought they were silly - too high, totally impractical, and a showy animal print. But I was right on trend, and I knew it. Frankly, if I had them still, I probably could have pulled them out again this season. These days, I am, admittedly, less adventurous about animal prints that aren't leopard. But I will always love leopard in all of its forms, even if I don't wear it off. And I do love it in these pants, which sound like they would have some very interesting stories to tell if they could talk!

I love that you altered these in the legs. I've done that once, but I don't always think about it.
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous pants....I can't wait to see them more this winter, since they are SO in style!!

You are seriously so creative! I love hearing about your thrifting finds and I am so impress with how you re-invent them. The skinny silhouette looks amazing on you!

Oh my gosh these pants are EVERYTHING!!! I am loving the leopard trend and it IS so true... everything eventually comes back!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I love those pants so much I can barely even put it into words (especially paired with that perfect jacket). I love that you altered them as well, they looks brilliant with a skinny fit.

This looks is great and really fun for this time of year! I think it is so awesome that you changed the hem yourself with your sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteI love the finishing touches of your look. The bag, the earring ... everything! You carry off that print well too.

I think they look much better as skinny pants! Those are the kind of pants that will come back again and again with the trends. You will definitely get your cost per wear down even more over the years!
ReplyDeleteWow those pants are amazing. I think thrifting is such a great way to keep up with trends. The cost is always on point and you are so right that things do come back around. Your purse is absolutely amazing too!

I tried to get my wife into thrifting (I don't shop much myself). She has not fully accepted the challenge yet but these pants might help.
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe those pants are thrifted! All goes to show that fashion is just one giant circle! Everything goes in and out so keep what you love, even if it’s not currently “in” because it will be again someday! You look fab :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that you repurposed those pants yourself and turned them into a straight leg. So cool!
ReplyDeleteWow love that you repurposed them!! It’s so true that everything always seems to come back into style. Such a chic look!!

cute & little
Cute pic of the two of you together! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking those leopard print pants on you too! I think leopard print is one of those classic prints that is often trendy and everywhere, then it quietens down a bit but it's always back! I have some leopard print scarves I pull out every winter - they always work! :) I do regret letting go of my grey leopard print jeans a while back though!
Hope that your week is going well so far :) I had my last day at work today and now I'm on Christmas holidays, yey!
