Pop of Red

On Saturday it was in the mid 40°s and sunny, so I decided I could get away with not wearing a coat. I also decided I could get away with ballet flats. I can't say it was 100% the correct choice, but lately we've been having two types of weather - either overcast, wet, and warm, or bright and sunny but below freezing. So I saw a chance to wear my Ferragamo flats without the threat of rain and I took it.

I sort of feel like the red bow Ferragamo flats are my 'holiday' shoes. No guarantees I'll end up wearing them on Christmas itself, but they do feel terribly festive. I don't have a great deal of red in my closet as of late. Most of my bright red pieces were donated in recent years and with the small exception of searching for something festive to throw on this time of year, I haven't missed them. Though it turns out, a great red accessory offering just a pop of color is enough.

As you know I love shopping second-hand, it’s my favorite way to get designer names into my closet for less. I could have never paid retail price for these shoes, but thanks to online shops like Micolet, thousands of beautiful previously loved pieces from my favorite brands are only a click away from my closet and the low prices let me shop guilt free.

  8. They are such cute shoes and I agree, a little pop of colour is all you need sometimes! :) My friend keeps trying to get me to buy a pair of Ferragamos, haha! They are cute but I've still not yet taken the plunge. Maybe in the boxing day sales! :)

Hope that you are having a good week so far! I have a night out with friends tonight which I'm really looking forward to! :)

  9. Bright red is not an easy colour to wear, so I can understand why many of your red pieces have made their way out of your closet. Personally, even when my wardrobe was more colourful, I always preferred to keep red in accessories, as you have done so well here. The pops of red in your shoes and bag, both of which are beautiful, brighten up your neutral look without overwhelming it (and making it look overly Christmassy, which I know many people love, but I always think is a bit too much.) To me, this is a perfect sunny winter day look - and one I only wish I could wear. We woke up to - 22 degrees Celcius here today, sigh.

  15. I love adding color this time of year. There is nothing worse than wearing all dark colors all the time when it is already miserable outside.

Before I use to own several pairs of red heels and flats. Now that I think of it, I only have a pair left.
