Now it's time to start the baking, which I always love. Last night I made a batch of gingerbread cookies, which are not usually something we do. Cut-outs seem to be an every other year (or maybe every three years?) kind of cookie. They can be pretty tedious as cookies go, even though I don't really mind sitting for hours piping on icing in intricate designs, it just means that there has to be some sort of planning and time management involved.
My sister will be home next Friday, so this is really the last weekend to get things done. Once she's here it will be just a constant stream of watching our favorite Christmas movies, baking and eating more cookies. We'll do our best to get through Home Alone one and two, Love Actually, Elf, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful Life, our favorite Hallmark movie that they don't air anymore, The Christmas List (somehow it's still on YouTube in it's recorded off of TV in the early aughts entirety), The Santa Clause, The Holiday, and maybe if we have time, we'll check out that new one on Netflix. Overwhelming, I know...but it's our tradition. What are your must-watch holiday movies?

I don't really have any holiday movies that I watch every year (but I definitely do for Halloween, ha ha) - but I do love watching all the random ones that pop up on tv and Netflix this time of year. And it sounds like you're super far along with all your holiday prep; it's always nice to nice that stuff all sorted.

The Santa Claus & Home Alone! Those are my go to movies for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI love watching any holiday movies! Home Alone is a fun movie to watch, and Elf is good for laughs!
ReplyDeleteI think the best part of Christmas is all the traditions leading up to it! It's so much fun! We've started a lot of our Christmas traditions as soon as it was December. Oo I love that you turned a neutral dress into a festive look!

ReplyDeleteHoliday movies and homemade cookies - what could be better? I love your list of movies and have to rewatch a few. I haven't seen "It's a wonderful life" in its entirety. Maybe this is the year!

Your outfit looks so cosy and the scarf and shoes are a cute way to add a little touch of colour to the neutral dress - you will be able to wear it so many different ways just by changing accessories, what a great piece! :)
ReplyDeleteYour upcoming Christmas time sounds really fun too! We usually get together Christmas eve and do crafts, decorate cookies (we found baking in advance works best) and then watching some Christmas movies. We do like love actually but we've had to be a bit more selective with what we watch around the kids, haha! I am looking forward to it so much :)
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend :) Yesterday the boys had their Christmas concert and it was the cutest thing!

We just got all but 3 of our presents wrapped (still in the mail) and it feels SO GOOD! Last year I was still shopping at this point. I hate being a last minute person, but sometimes it just happens. I have never watched The Christmas list and I have a youtube tab open for it now! I can't wait! I love Home Alone 1&2!
ReplyDeleteI love that we both did a post on our Christmas traditions! My sisters and I always watch Home Alone together as well, in fact we just got together and did it last night :) Love all of your holidays traditions!

For me this is a time to hand craft items like Christmas cards, Christmas letters, Christmas stockings, Christmas decorations and Christmas gifts.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have some really enjoyable traditions! I have sooo many with my family, but it's my first married Christmas, so I'm excited to begin forming new traditions with my husband!
ReplyDeleteI finished my wrapping yesterday as well, such a relief! Love this camel dress :)

I love how festive everything about this look and these photos are, particularly because I know everything is made up of clothing you already owned, you just put the pieces together in a new way that happens to suit the season perfectly. I'm also head over heels for your sweater dress and cursing the fact that it has so much wool in it, because I would never actually be able to wear it myself - despite it being the absolute perfect sweater dress that I feel I've been searching for forever. Looks like I'll be living variously through you again ;)

ReplyDeleteWe watch Christmas movies all month long, make cookies, go look at lights, and dance to Christmas tunes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shirtdress and scarf !
ReplyDeleteI've still to shop, wrap and deliver. Have no idea what we'll be doing for Christmas.
How fun! My favorite part of this season is baking!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful holiday! Loving the camel dress.
