I think I've become a Naturalizer convert, I know that most comfort brands tend to have the stigma of being unfashionable old lady shoes, which isn't to say that they don't have some of those, but overall they offer a lot of cute shoes that are designed with comfort in mind and come in different widths, which I will always wish would become more common place.
I hope you have some great plans for the weekend, and that your 2019 is off to a good start!

I love the idea of the sock boot trend, but so far I've never found a pair of sock boots that I actually love when it comes down to it. That's probably at least partly because, for me, the sad reality is that owning a lot of different pairs of boots feels sort of pointless - not that I don't have several, but I don't buy new ones often. In Winnipeg, it's too cold for anything much but true snow boots for most of the winter. On a rare warm day, I will pull out my one pair of ankle boots that have good enough grip for walking in ice and snow/that I am not worried about ruining with salt stains and other winter dirt. But truthfully, unless I'm travelling, I more or less wear two pairs of boots all winter and wait for ankle boots until spring, by which point there are a lot less sock boots for sale. I digress. I love how this boots look on you and how they work so well into this whole outfit, which is just perfectly effortless.

I love Naturalizer shoes because they are sooo comfortable! I recently bought a pair of sock booties, and I feel like they are a game changer. Now, I definitely need to look into yours. I love how you put this outfit together!

Cute! I've been looking at boots like that as well but can never find the perfect pair.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, a lot of those brands have horrible shoes, but then there are a few that are actually really cute. Like those!

I really love this, they look very chic. Like Cee, I usually wear one or two worn yet warm and with good grips pairs of of boots for most of the winter and then wait till there's considerably less snow and ice on the ground to get out the rest of my boots. So, basically, January to March it's beat up old boots, then it's most fashionable boots from March to May, then summer shoes to September, back to cute boots until October or November if I'm very lucky, and then settling in for another 5ish months of my winter ones. Man, that's depressing.

I have two pair of sock booties now. I feel like they are like leggings for your feet. They don't rub because they have so much give!!!

Lovely outfit ! I like them although i agree, the brand is looked upon as old lady.
ReplyDeleteBut if you look at it reasonably there are so many older trends right now that it all depends on how you wear it.
Yours are far from the old vibe.
I recently bought a pair of tall black boots- it was right after I gave away my ankle boots because i do not wear them enough. Makes no sense right?¿
I have to say, while your boots are nice,t he cardigan is the standout piece in your outfit for me. It looks so lovely and cosy, I like the print! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have sock boots, but there is so few boots wearing days a year here. I think for someone in a colder climate like you, they are a great buy, and these look so good with your jeans. Yey for not having cold ankles too!
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend and your 2019 has been off to a great start :)

that cardigan looks so cozy!
ReplyDeleteI agree-many times comfort brands can be overlooked, but I find great styles with brands like naturalizer that last for years and are SO comfortable! I had a pair of naturalizer boots that lasted probably 7 years and I took to europe several times!
ReplyDeleteI love this cardigan so much! I love how it is a littler more dressy then your typical cardigan. I couldn't agree with you more that comfort is key with shoes, and these sock booties sound like a dream!

Okay, everything about this look I absolutely love. The plaid cardigan/jacket, the booties, the hat. I love it. I didn't like the look of sock booties at first but they're really growing on me. And I also love that they keep your ankles warm. :)
ReplyDeleteNaturalizer shoes are always so comfy!! I've been debating on trying the sock bootie trend but haven't pulled the trigger yet... maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteUmmm okay that plaid coatigan is just TOO cute. I need it like yesterday. It's so fun and yet so practical. My kinda look for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat plaid cardigan is so chic and stylish! Plus it looks so cozy!
ReplyDeleteThose sock booties are adorable, comfort brands have really stepped it up recently!

Your sock booties are the cutest! I love that the heel isn't unmanageable yet you still get some extra height with them!
