It may have been a long weekend, but it went by far too fast. We had some beautiful summer weather, and friends invited me to spend an afternoon at a lake where I tried stand up paddle boarding for the first time. I was pleased with myself for not falling off, even though my main motivation was not wanting to get my hair wet, or having to feel the tentacle-like plant life brush against by legs (I'm a wimp, I know).
For the Fourth, I decided to throw on shorts to stay cool, and pulled out this navy peplum top I got at J.Crew factory at the end of last summer. Sadly they didn't bring it back this year, which is a shame as I love the mixed textures, the scalloped detail, and comfortable cut.

I've always wanted to try paddle boarding (knowing full well I would totally fall in the water in less than a minute) - that's really neat that you did.
Such a cute navy tank and I like the subtle red white and blue with the scarf in your hair! :) I'm terrible at paddle boarding - have no sense of balance, haha! My sister is great at it though!
I'm a total wimp and would probably never try paddle-boarding, so mega props to you for your bravery - and skill! Love this fun and festive weekend look. Your hair scarf is gorgeous, and I adore that peplum blouse!
These just might be the most perfect Fourth of July outfit photos. There is something so idyllic about the waterside setting at sunset, and your red, white and blue outfit gives a nod to the holiday without being overtly holiday-themed. I particularly love the scarf tied in your hair and freely admit that I have considered, albeit not very seriously, growing my hair long again just so I could wear a silk scarf in it - which is not a very good reason, so I'll just enjoy watching you do it, instead ;) xox, Cee
