The Last Summer Evening

This is the very last summer weekend, though it certainly doesn't feel like it. Fall came a week early. Last Sunday however, still felt like summer. The evening air was warm enough to go out for ice cream and I finally got my first (and I suppose last) cone at Arethusa for the season.

While I'm sure warm days will still pop up during this last week or so of September and even through the middle of October, the moment that chilly air settled in, it felt like I had to say goodbye to summer.

I wish I could be waxing poetic over sweaters and plaid and pumpkin spice lattes, but that is not who I am. I'll just be here, waiting for spring.

  2. This is great look for that summer to fall transition (love the skirt) - as usual, I'm giddy with the knowledge that fall is here but, don't worry, it'll be summer again in no time I'm sure.

  7. Such a lovely outfit to say farewell to summer, that skirt is so good on you! :)

We didn't really get to say goodbye to winter here, it warmed up so quickly and it went from winter to summer super fast. Hope you get to enjoy a few summery days before the cold weather really sinks in! :)

Hope that you have a lovely weekend ahead of you :)

  8. You need to come out to the midwest! It's still in the 80s here and very humid! I'm trying to just enjoy it because the winter lasts way too long!

  15. This is such a fabulous look - the printed skirt, the tied white shirt and the sandals... it's effortless and looks very European. Nicely done.

  17. I don't think I will ever be able to fully relate to anyone who waxes poetic about pumpkin spice lattes. Sweaters have their moments, I admit - and I have to muster some enthusiasm about them, since I'll be wearing them for the next six months weather I like it or not. The same goes for coats. But seriously - like you, I will just be here, waiting for spring, and since our summer slipped away one night in mid-August, I think it's going to be a while, so I'm happy to live vicariously through your last few summer photos until I can get my own from Greece ready :)
