Even if you aren't a blogger, chances are you've got a phone full of half a decades worth of selfies and snapshots, and it's easy to see what you had on a year ago today. As I scrolled through my archives I found some slightly blurry and underexposed shots of this outfit (or at least a close approximation) and realized I'd never shot it for the blog. How lovely it was to rediscover these velvet pants and appreciate how much I adore this blush leather jacket, which I've barely worn since I was in California earlier this year. (Lucky Californians and their perfect leather jacket weather, here I'm limited to the beginning of fall and the end of spring.)
Sadly to say that one week into the new month my November budget post is already shaping up to be as extensive as October's, and this outfit serves as a good reminder to spend more time getting inspired by my own archives and shopping my closet instead of Banana Republic.

Love the burgundy with blush! Such a good color combo!!!
ReplyDeleteSo far I've behaved this month but that's because I know I'll probably buy something in Net-a-Porter's sale this month (and I'll be spending $$$ at Disney next week - although that money is already saved in my vacation fund so ;) )

Burgundy and pink is one of my favorite color combos! I've been bad with spending this month. There are way too many good stuff out there haha!

I'm glad you reenacted that outfit for the blog as that jacket is such a wonderful piece that it's really nice to see it again, I love that blush pink shade. I am trying to make a concerted effort to cut down on my shopping until at least Christmas but its definitely hard when there just seems to be inspiration everywhere.

This color combo is great! I love that lace cami on you.
ReplyDeleteThe blush jacket is so cute on you and I really like it with the velvet pants! :) I find when I'm putting a post together I'll look up previous ways I've worn things and it will give me ideas for ways to rewear something - it's nice to be inspired by our past outfits - the no shop benefit is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI made it through October and bought nothing for myself - I focused on Christmas gifts for everyone else instead. Immediately hit up a sale on the 1st November though and bought myself some goodies, ha! Hopefully I don't buy much more with Christmas so close!
Hope that you have a lovely weekend ahead of you! We are taking our annual family Christmas pic with Santa today! :)

ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to take a look back and get inspired by yourself! The burgundy and blush combo is a great one!
ReplyDeleteThe velvet pants and leopard heels are totally something I'd wear. Love!
ReplyDeleteIt's true that we all have closets full of options to "shop" if we are really feeling creative. I have been doing that this weekend as I pack for NYC and it really does remind me that I have so many options. That said, basically half my plan for NYC is to shop, so while I know, intellectually, that I have a closet full of outfits, somehow that doesn't stop me from wanting to acquire new pieces. Not even a little. (Nor does it stop me from envying California. I think I've worn my leather jacket three times in 2019. Sigh.)
