I'll blame how late Thanksgiving was this year, as that seems like the default excuse, but this holiday season has just been flying by and I'm not ready for Christmas to be just over a week away.
Due to conflicts in work schedules, we did not get our acts together to bring home our Christmas tree the first weekend of December, and didn't manage to get it until the 12th, which is late even by our standards (no Christmas trees up before Thanksgiving in this house) and then due to all the lovely snow you see here, the tree spent another day sitting outside in the hopes that the weather would warm and we wouldn't have to take a snow covered tree to melt in the living room. (That happened six years ago and it was just a huge mess.)
At least it's up, and that is one thing to check off the list, now to finish shopping, and wrapping, and maybe, just maybe, take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the season before it's gone again for another year.
P.S. These Target boots are not meant to be worn in the snow, they are neither waterproof, nor particularly warm. I might try to rectify this with some waterproofing spray and shearling liners, though I suppose it was too optimistic of me to expect a proper winter boot for $30.

Such a perfect tree hunting outfit! Shame about the boots though, haha! But I'm sure the spray and shearling will help at least a little bit!

Wow these trees are so pretty! I'd love to be able to pick out my own tree! I also really love your boots - can't believe they're from Target!

The late Thanksgiving really messed up my holiday schedule. The snow on all these trees just make it all look so magical!

I hate when I wear the wrong boots in the snow. But I do love all these snowy photos. Wish it were snowing down here in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteI got my tree up late this year as well but I'm looking forward to enjoying it for a couple more weeks at least!

omg the perfect winter wonderland for tree shopping!!!! so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI feel like Thanksgiving and Christmas have FLOWN by this year. I literally feel like I just decorated and now I'm about to have to take it all down!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute winter outfit! I like the colour with the scarf and it's a shame the boots aren't practical as they look the part in the snow - they look warm and cosy!
ReplyDeleteit's nice you managed to go get a tree too. We just have a plastic one we use each year, haha! Doesn't smell the same but it is much less messy!
Hope that you're having a great week :) I'm enjoying a relaxing day today as it will be a busy week with so many fun Christmas things planned!

Do try as they are great looking boots! The whole outfit is the perfect tree hunting choice.
ReplyDeleteLove that you were able to find a real tree, even if you didn’t get to until late! I think we all felt a bit scrambled/rushed this holiday season’
ReplyDeleteThose boots are so cute! I hope you find waterproofing spray and a liner for them soon! They are just begging to be worn this winter!
ReplyDeletefirst, i'm so jealous of all of your snow! and second, i LOVE your plaid scarf! so festive!
ReplyDeleteso happy you were able to find a nice real tree!
It has been such a busy holiday season! Love your outfit, your boots and scarf are so cute!

While your boots may have been impractical, they certainly do look the part! I can't think of a more perfect outfit for the season - this is really what I want to be wearing this time of year (but meanwhile, here in reality, I'm zipped into a knee-length parka most of the time, just hoping not to get frost bite.) It's so casual and effortless, but still perfectly holiday appropriate. And as for getting ready for Christmas, I honestly think I get more behind every year. We barely decorate and even so, I didn't put out a single thing until the fifteenth this year. Ah well - there's always next year ;)

Love your boots!! I got a pair from Target last year and what a great idea to spray them for waterproofing and add shearling socks for warmth! I'm going to have to try that!

Gorgeous photos Lydia! I'll live vicariously through you because I've been wanting to go up to the mountains and play in the snow :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a winter wonderland though! It really looks like a proper Christmas there. I hope your boots fare a bit better.
ReplyDeleteGetting Christmas tree is so exciting. I didn't get a tree this year. I converted our indoor plant into one. It is shaped like a Christmas tree so its perfect.

Beautiful scenery Lydia, well at least you got a tree. I never got around to it. The only Christmasey thing at home was a peppermint hand soap. Hope you had a great holiday. Hugs.
