Cee & NYC

Back in November I got to meet one of my oldest blogging friends Cee, for the very first time. Cee spends as much time traveling as she possibly can, and over the years I've thought about the times our paths almost could have crossed. When she mentioned that she'd impulsively booked a trip to New York, my first thought was, "We could meet up!"

Several weeks and email exchanges later we'd made plans for Sunday brunch at Augustine. It's been quite some time since a 6 a.m. alarm excited me, but that morning I woke before it chimed and excitedly headed to the train station before the sun had barely risen.

When we met outside the restaurant, the first order of business was outfit photos, of course. I admit, I attempted to pull off Cee's signature subtle smile, and massively failed. My grin was a far better reflection of my mood anyway, and we had the most wonderful afternoon together, dining, talking, shopping, and enjoying New York.

Whenever I ask myself why I'm still blogging after all these years, the answer is always the same; the wonderful connections and relationships with other bloggers we've created together.

  4. You both wore such fun statement bags and what great photos! it's nice you were able to catch up! I met a local blogger just the other week - we've caught up before but this time we had our kids in tow too, haha! It was fun for them to have a playdate :)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a birthday party and went to a theme park with family visiting from Western Australia. It was so fun!

  9. Both of you look marvelous! You're right, the network of people in the blogging community keeps you going. Your lunch and drinks look on point, and you had a great time! Win.

  10. This truly was such a fun day, despite my impractical footwear choice and the fact that I neglected to pack flats ;) I always think it's so interesting that while blogging is inherently a solitary activity, it is one that is enriched, more than anything, by meeting the people behind the screen in person. I can't help but wonder, ten years on, if the bloggers of today feel the same way, or if we really are the last generation of people who knowingly crave and seek those in person connections. I suppose I'll never really know. But either way, I'm so glad we got to have this wonderful day together :)
