It's already been September for a week, but somehow it didn't feel official until yesterday, Labor Day. When inexplicably the temperatures shift, the gradual shortening of the days become suddenly more pronounced, as if we'd lost the time all at once, and the leaves which insist on turning early come into sharp focus amidst the swaths of green.
The usual dilemma of hitting the breaks on summer fashion in favor of embracing all things autumnal arises, even though I know I'm planted firmly in camp summer and wont vacate until forced by something far colder than a morning chill.
Even though I know beautiful summer-like days can continue to crop up through mid October, once Labor Day has passed, the mindset changes, and little can be done to reverse it.

Just think you will have next summer.
ReplyDeleteI know it's not the best but it's what we've got.
Lovely dress, for some reason I look at these pictures and imagine you are in Italy. Maybe in the port of Genoa taking a stroll....
Love the print of that dress! I haven't even had a chance to enjoy Summer yet so it feels weird that it's going to start going away. I'm just going to treat this year as a wash and do it over next year, haha

That dress is just gorgeous! I can't even believe that it's September...where has the year gone? Crazy times indeed! At least we are getting through it :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully there will still be a few weeks of summer-ish weather that you can enjoy - especially in that beautiful sundress (it's gorgeous).

To really start fall with a bang, temperatures here dipped nearly below freezing last week. That continued into this week. They only rose to something resembling normalcy yesterday. I've already worn sweaters (and still be freezing.) I am not happy about it, so I am, quite frankly, thrilled to see you still able to enjoy bare arms, bare ankles and a beautiful sunset by the water. Stay at camp summer as long as you possibly can :)

That is such a beautiful dress on you and so summery with that bag and those shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteI do get all excited when a new season arrives but despite having a few warm days at the end of winter some of our spring days so far have been very winter like and it's not quite warm enough to leave all the layers behind yet! I'll always dress for the weather rather than the season, but I am looking forward to warm spring weather and less layers!
Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you :)
